"Oh, a map sounds great! I’ve never been down there before," Cobalt says, lifting the latch of their bag to let Seymour scuttle inside and inspect its interior. "I mean, not this particular dungeon," they hurry to add, "but I've been in tons of other ones before. I’m not a newbie or anything like that."
Inside the bag, Seymour gives a satisfied chitter. He seems to like his new temporary abode.
A few more steps—less of them for Rokuro with his longer legs—and the entryway down to the first level looms before the small party, a treacherously plain set of stairs made from smooth polished brick, not yet worn down by the hurried steps of masses of adventurers. It’s frightening, but exciting, too, how new everything looks around here, how much there is still left for them to discover. With companions as knowledgeable as this, surely nothing at all can go wrong!
Taking a deep breath, Cobalt step forwards first—only to miss the first brick by a good few inches and go tumbling down into the dungeon with a cry, leaving their baffled companions behind at the top of the stairs.
